Appearance and identification
Compare the red fin areas with the paler fins of A. ternetzi. Age, stress and lighting affect colour; this illustration cannot authenticate a specimen.
Same-species behaviour
The retailer suggests one individual or at least eight introduced together in substantial space; a few individuals may concentrate aggression.
Space requirements
Provide oxygenated moving water, shelter and open swimming room. A published 4 ft × 18 in base has no complete adult group context and is not a stocking calculation.
Diet and feeding
Offer plant-containing prepared foods with suitable frozen items. Grazing does not replace feeding.
Compatibility limits
Avoid small or trailing-finned companions. Shared temperatures do not establish compatibility.
Aquarium environment
Tender plants can be eaten; planted-tank safety and shrimp compatibility are not established.
