Use a mature, stable aquarium with tiny foods, gentle flow and cover. Small size does not remove the need for group swimming space.
Appearance and identification
A dark flank stripe broadens in front and tapers along a slender red-orange body. Compared with Boraras merah, typical chili rasboras show more extensive red and a more continuous flank marking. Pattern variation prevents a photo or trade label alone from proving identity.
Same-species behaviour
The source recommends at least 8–10 conspecifics. Breeding males may hold temporary territories; this is not a stocking-capacity calculation.
Space requirements
Seriously Fish suggests a 45 × 30 cm base; capacity for a specific adult group is unverified.
Diet and feeding
Offer tiny prepared foods alongside small live or frozen foods and check that each fish feeds.
Compatibility limits
Small size and peaceful behaviour do not guarantee compatibility; assess predation, feeding competition, space and water separately.
Aquarium environment
Dense planting and floating cover provide shelter; retain gentle-flow swimming areas. Tiny size does not establish safety for shrimplets.
