Appearance and identification

Compared with orange-finned danios, body spots alone are not enough: examine the short barbels and spots on dorsal and tail fins together.

Same-species behaviour

Keep at least 8–10.

Space requirements

Use at least a 45 × 30 cm base.

Diet and feeding

Offer tiny prepared foods and small live or frozen foods, making sure weaker fish get enough.

Compatibility limits

Larger fish may prey on or outcompete this small species.

Aquarium environment

Planted margins show the pattern, but leave a swimming lane and protect filter intakes.
