Appearance and identification

Occasional mildly brackish records do not mean it needs salt in an aquarium.

Same-species behaviour

Keep 8–10 for social display.

Space requirements

Use a 45×30cm base with floating cover and surface access.

Diet and feeding

Offer tiny foods near the surface and watch that prepared food is accepted. Newly hatched fry need a separate, finer feeding plan.

Compatibility limits

Assess companion size and feeding pressure.

Aquarium environment

Floating cover suits surface use; keep feeding access.
