Same-species behaviour
Reported to do well in quiet community tanks, but adults eat fry.
Space requirements
Provide upper cover, visible feeding access and a close lid.
Diet and feeding
Make sure it feeds and offer appropriately small foods. Newly hatched fry need microscopic foods rather than automatically accepting Artemia.
Compatibility limits
Watch feeding and upper-water competition. Adult predation on fry needs separate breeding management.
Aquarium environment
Plants or spawning mops offer egg attachment surfaces. Keep upper feeding visible.
