Appearance and identification

Indian and Thai imports are documented. Tetraodon cutcutia is an old combination. Compare the ocellated Pao abei using overall form, pattern state and provenance; a black spot alone cannot identify either.

Social behaviour and territory

Plan species housing with separation available; experimental breeding ratios are not stocking guidance.

Compatibility limits

Fish, shrimp and conspecifics are not presumed safe.

Space requirements

Provide plants, roots, retreats and gentle circulation. A general minimum footprint is unverified.

Aquarium environment

Plants supply cover, without protecting shrimp or snails.

Diet and feeding

Confirm accepted live or frozen foods and offer varied suitable invertebrates.
