Appearance and identification

Irregular black blotches scatter over silver-grey flanks. Males are slimmer, with fine dark fin markings and a light yellow tint in some fish. The blotches contrast with the more vertical bars of L. islai.

Same-species behaviour

Allow swimming and growth space.

Diet and feeding

Offer a varied plant-inclusive diet; algae grazing is not a substitute for feeding.

Compatibility limits

Peaceful with peaceful companions.
