Parosphromenus bintan
Parosphromenus bintan
A rounded tail with relatively continuous color bands on the dorsal, anal and caudal fins, unlike the long caudal filament of deissneri.
- Adult length
- Up to 2.6 cm (standard length, without the tail fin)
- Water temperature
- 22–28 °C
- Natural habitat
- Its known native range includes waters on Bintan in the Riau Archipelago and Bangka Island, Indonesia.
Needs very soft, acidic water.
Social behaviour and territory
Does not form tight schools. Pairs can be used for breeding; groups need caves and cover. Watch nest guarding and subordinate fish.
Diet and feeding
Offer tiny, suitably sized live foods. Dry food is unreliably accepted; confirm the fish actually eat.
