Parosphromenus juelinae
Parosphromenus juelinae
Red is more prominent on the flanks, and the tail is rounded. Color bands are less continuous than in bintan, and the tail differs from the filamented, diamond-shaped tail of deissneri.
- Adult length
- Up to 3.2 cm (standard length, without the tail fin)
- Natural habitat
- Native to waters of Bangka Island, Indonesia.
Needs extremely soft, acidic water.
Social behaviour and territory
Does not form tight schools. Pairs may be kept for breeding; groups need caves and visual barriers. Watch nest defence and subordinate fish.
Diet and feeding
Offer tiny, suitably sized live foods. Dry food is unreliably accepted; confirm the fish actually eat.
