Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor
Males are slightly larger and become more colorful when breeding.
The two traditional subspecies differ in coloration; stocks of different provenance should not be mixed for breeding.

Even a small mouthbrooding cichlid needs bottom territory. Small size does not justify crowding it with other bottom dwellers in limited space.
Social behaviour and territory
Males are strongly aggressive toward each other; usually keep one male with several females. Bottom-dwelling tankmates may also be driven away.
Diet and feeding
Use small cichlid pellets as a staple, regularly supplemented with live and frozen foods.
