Appearance and identification

The meyeri form has connected flank patches; the xiphidium male has short vertical bars on the front half and no caudal-base spot. Spot count or sword absence does not identify it.

Same-species behaviour

Keep with its own species or non-disturbing companions; do not mix conservation stocks casually.

Diet and feeding

Accepts suitable live, frozen and flake foods.
